RESDP Scholarship and Apprenticeship Programme

The RESDP Scholarship targets
young women pursuing careers
in the energy sector.

The programme aligns with The RESDP's goal of increasing the number of female workers within the energy development sector.

Female SALCC students enrolled in SALCC's elelctrical and mechanical subjects are eligible to receive the scholarship's grant and apprenticeship opportunity.

Students must enrol in at least one
of the following programmes to qualify
for the scholarship.

Scholarship Objectives

To offer an annual programme dedicated to females pursuing electrical or mechanical engineering programmes from SALCC's respective departments.
To cover the cost of fees, primary tools — including a laptop — and transportation of recipients throughout the four (4) year duration of the programme.
To distribute the awarded scholarship based on demand, with an attempt to front load in the earlier years. Distribution will be determined by SALCC.
To enhance to the existing apprenticeship programme by offering extended three (3) month scholarships (including stipends) in the energy sector for females enrolled in electrical and mechanical engineering subjects. Thirty-two (32) apprenticeships will be supported over a four (4) year period.
To faciliatate the careers of scholarship recipients through an annual job fair in Castries and Vieux Fort, thereby supporting graduates in networking and finding gainful employment within in the energy sector.
