Defensive Driving
Defensive Driving is an interactive, eight-hour course that is delivered 100% online and synchronously. The course is accessible to all persons who currently possess a Provisional Driver’s License.
About Public Health (BA)
The Bachelors Degree in Public Health trains learners in the areas of disease spread and prevention, epidemiology, health promotion and illness mitigation. The impact of diseases on individuals and wider communities is thoroughly examined, to further develop skills related to disaster preparation and management within practitioners.
Learning delivery for this programme utilises a blended modality (both face-to-face and online), and is self-paced to accommodate both part-time and full-time applicants.

- Learners leverage the social and political determinants of health in the promotion healthy lifestyles.
- Students acquaint themselves with current technological tools in health communication and informatics, and utilise them accordingly in their duties.
- Students make use of evidence-based strategies in public health issues, to better address interventions.
- Students are taught to think critically about the about the multi-faceted nature of public health, leveraging this to brainstorm solutions to pertinent issues.
- Practitioners consider various approaches in changing health behaviour, including influences from clinical care and social interventions.
- Practitioners learn to analyze health-related data, and make inferences to guide public health decisions.
- Learners function independently and contribute to the education of others in various health topics of interest.

Entry Requirements

- College entry requirements including one science subject (Integrated Science will be considered as a science subject).
- Persons seeking admission to the Faculty of Health and Wellness programmes who meet the academic qualifications are advised that the following are also required for entry:
- Passing of interview.
- Passing of written communication skills assessment.
- Presentaion of two references, from workplace supervisor or last employer; and/or the last educational institution attended.
- Presentation of a valid Police Record.
- All general entry qualifications must be attained by the deadline for submission of applications.
- Minimum age requirement for admission is 18 years old at the end of the first year of study.
- Upon selection, candidates would be required to present a certificate of physical and mental fitness to practice.
