About English As A Second Language
Within the English As A Second Language programme, learners will be introduced to speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills at the basic level.
The goal of this course is to allow learners to improve face to face speaking interactions in day-to-day situations, develop listening skills in everyday dialogues on familiar topics, improve reading/comprehension of short texts with familiar everyday words and produce/write short texts using familiar everyday words.
Learning Outcomes
- Students will be able to recognize greetings, introductions, and expressions of goodwill.
- Learners recognize short, simple instructions, as well as commands, requests and expressions of personal needs.
- Learners identify expressions used to attract attention and ask for assistance in urgent situations.
- Students comprehend and contribute to topical and light-hearted discussions.
