About the Crop Production Course

This course will cover the entire lifecycle of cultivation, from market intelligence and crop selection to nursery management, planting, harvesting, and marketing.

Learners will benefit from a combination of theoretical and practical teaching, gaining hands-on experience in growing a short-term crop.

Upon completion of their course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to cultivate other short-term crops.


Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Course participants are required to have their own PPE, including boots, overalls, gloves, goggles, respirator/mask, and small tools. Additionally, learners will be encouraged to grow a tomato crop at their homes, either in pots or soil.

A limited number of scholarships of $550 are available, provided by CICan/SAGE06.

Applicants seeking scholarship consideration must submit a 250-300 word essay explaining their motivation for taking Climate Smart Crop Production, and how they believe it would benefit them.

Additional funds in the form of stipends will be available to support the attendance of students with financial needs (evidence will be required).
