The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College welcomed approximately 60 (sixty) primary and secondary school students for the annual Faces of Development STEAM Camp, continuing a partnership that has spanned more than four years.

This year’s camp placed special emphasis on Mathematics, encouraging students to explore how mathematical thinking, problem-solving and creativity are connected to everyday life and future careers. The programme also exposed participants to several other STEAM disciplines through engaging presentations in Biology, Theatre Arts and Robotics.

Students participated in interactive games and activities, received prizes and tokens, and toured the College campus. The experience allowed them to engage directly with educators, explore various academic and career possibilities and gain a better understanding of college life.

The event was led by SALCC’s Department of Internationalisation, Advancement and Partnerships, with support from several departments across the College.

Director of Internationalisation, Advancement and Partnerships, Tracy Pilgrim-George, noted that the continued collaboration with Faces of Development provides a meaningful opportunity to inspire young people.
