SALCC Offers Full Scholarship to 2025 Junior Minister of Tourism
On Thursday May 29, 2025, ten students took the stage at Harbor Club to compete in the finals of National Tourism Public Speaking Competition, organized by the Ministry of Tourism Investment, Creative Industries, Culture, and Information. Jeanic Polius from St. Joseph’s Convent emerged as the 2025 Junior Minister of Tourism.
Understanding the value of developing public speaking skills in our youth, SALCC has annually awarded a full scholarship to the champion of the competition for the past few years.
The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College is proud to partner with the Ministry of Tourism in this meaningful endeavour, which provides the youth with an opportunity to hone their communication and leadership skills and that can only augur well for our future.

Fanis was also involved in the one-day workshop provided to the ten finalists, which focused on refining their speaking and presentation skills, as well as deepening knowledge of key tourism topics.
“I really treasured the opportunity to work with the ten finalists this year and look forward to seeing their growth as speakers in the future,” said Fanis.
Congratulations to the finalists for their great presentations and congratulations to Ms. Polius for her impressive victory.
