Shazadi McAnuff is from Jamaica but resides in Rodney Bay, Gros Islet. She is enrolled in SALCC's CAPE programme as a first-year student.

Shazadi entered the WORRRD Up Competition to express her journey of self-exploration, grievance, and internal struggles, hoping that others will find comfort in her work. Many of her previous poems were created to express thoughts that persons may find uncomfortable but are commonly experienced by many, such as herself.
