Friendship is a drug to which I am addicted
A feeling that leaves my heart constricted
Muscles tighten around the center and breathing becomes ever so labored
Never have I ever experienced something so raw
Something so pure coming straight from the core
Uncontrolled smiles and laughs for days
Bursts of happy out of the blue
But… the mind is a powerful double-edged sword
The mind speaks louder than the vessel
The mind and heart wrestle for dominance
Dominance over the new sensation

Demons at each shoulder whispering ruin
Demons whispering tales of regret. Tales of regret and loneliness
Isolation…even in a room full of people
To tell the truth, it terrifies me.
To be welcomed so openly with no hesitation
To tell the truth, I fear it will all come to ruin
The great nation we call our bond
And then and there, despite the high, the symptoms show their eye
Symptoms of a fraud who needs friends to be able to fly high in the sky
Yet, I cannot back away, I can't go cold turkey
Because friendship is a drug I can never give up
No matter how hard I try.
Otherwise, I float on my own through the sky
