• Supports strategies for transformation and organizational culture change
  • Drives the strategic plan related to areas of responsibility 
  • Performance Management - developing policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management
  • Recruitment, Selection, Stafing - includes developing job descriptions, preparing advertisements, checking application forms, short listing, interviewing and selecting candidates, recruiting staff
  • Employee Assistance - provides counseling support through direct or referred services
  • Career Development - provides career advice/counseling, facilitates cross training including work attachments, etc.
  • Union/Labour Relations - negotiating with staff and their representativies on issues relating to pay and conditions, interpreting and advising on employment legislation; listening to grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures
  • Compensation & Benefits - advising on pay and other renumeration issues, including promotion and benefits; undertaking regular salary review; administering payroll and maintaining records relating to staff
