The sports programme at the College is the responsibility of the Sports Co-ordinator. This includes the management and upkeep of all sporting facilities as well as sporting activities for staff and students.

The Co-ordinator is assisted by the College Sports Committee comprising staff from all Divisions as well as representatives from the Students' Council.

Organisation

In 1999, the College initiated a "House" system and all students and staff have been placed in one of the four houses.

Activities

"Arthuramas" Inter-Divisional Miniature Competition in Football, Netball, Cricket, Basketball and Volleyball. Inter-House competitions are as follows:

Semester One: Basketball, Netball

Semester Two: Cricket, Track and Field and Volleyball

Special programmes include Latin Dance, Bridge and Lawn Tennis
 Facilities

At present, the following facilities are operational: 

  • The College Gymnasium (available to all)
  • The Multi-Purpose Court which can accommodate Lawn Tennis, Netball, Basketball and Volleyball
  • The Playing Field facilities,  Cricket, Football and the Field Events

Recent Initiatives

Great emphasis has been placed on infrastructural development over the last few years and to date a number of facilities have been added or upgraded.

The Gymnasium


gym This facility is part of the Lifetime Fitness and Wellness initiative.
The following monthly rates will be introduced from September 2003:

Students: $25 monthly ($30 with locker) - Access 3-4 times weekly
Staff: $30 monthly ($35 with locker) - Access 3-4 times weekly
Continuing Education students: $25 monthly ( $30 with locker) - Access 3-4 times weekly
Non Staff: $60 monthly ($65 with locker - Access 3-4 times weekly
Clubs/Schools: $300 monthly (group of 10) - Access Twice Weekly
Business Groups: $500 monthly ( group of 10) - Access 3 times weekly

Multi-Purpose Court

 
Catering to four sporting disciplines the court is indeed unique in construction having been built to ensure that water runs-off very quickly after showers.

Pavillion

Truly an asset in increasing the number of spectators at our sporting events this facility is the latest addition.

The College facilities can be leased at affordable rates.
