The Part-time Business Studies certificate Programme is offered by the Department of Continuing Education, with three options, namely:

a) Computer   b) Management   c) Accounting

combieThe Programme has been developed with the advice with the advice and support of St. Lucian business leaders, educators and students currently enrolled in Continuing Education courses, who have indicated that there is a need for a substantial training programme for business personnel which can be pursued on a part-time basis. It offers an individualized curriculum tailored to meet the needs and objectives of a wide range of students. The individualized nature of the programme allows for much versatility, both in academic prerequisites and start and finish times. The programme has a work place focus that satisfies students whose needs range from career management and organizational effectiveness to applied communication and numeracy skills.

The programme can be pursued at a pace which suits the participants personal learning style and other life commitments. The curriculum has been designed to blend practice and theory in a way that suits the needs of adults who bring relevant personal experiences into the classroom. Case studies, simulation exercises, video presentations, group interaction and visitations together with a non threatening classroom environment are all part of the total package geared to the participants educational needs. Instructors have been recruited both from among the College staff as well as from the business community with relevant work experience in the areas they are called upon to teach.

On the successful completion of all the stated requirements students will acquire a Certificate of Achievement from the Department of Continuing Education.
