The following system of grades and accompanying quality points is employed for credit courses:
Grade Point Average The Grade Point Average (GPA) is determined by multiplying the credit hours (credits attempted) of each course by the grade points corresponding to the semester grade for the course. The total of all such points for the period is then divided by the total number of credit hours for that period. This average is computed only on credit courses. Example:
In the Associate, Diploma, and Certificate programmes, the quality of student performance or level of distinction is based on the grade point average for credit courses. In general, the following descriptors for grades are used:
** Please note that a 'D' grade might not be regarded as a passing grade for some courses. |
