The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College Library was formally named the Hunter J. François Library after the Former Minister of Education, at the official opening ceremony of the building on February 27, 1993. It was built with funds from the European Economic Community at a cost of $3.5 million. A four storey structure, its architectural design was planned to support and enhance the styles of the older historical buildings on the Morne.

The main reading room seats approximately 150 users, and is located on Level one of the Library. Here is housed the Reserve collections, the General collection, the Reference collection and the Fiction collection. The second level of the Library houses the Periodicals Section and the Technical Services section. The third level houses the Audiovisual collection and services.

The Library uses the Alexandria Library management System to manage its collections and services. The Library also provides access to online journals through EBSCOHost and Proquest.

The Library’s role is central to the educational goals of the College. In keeping with this goal the Library can be found at the center of campus and it actively supports the work of the various teaching departments.
