Lives, the biography resource: a collection of annotated links to biography sites. Cataloged by individual names and biography collections (geographical, professions, Civil War, etc.). Includes journals, diaries, letters, memoirs, narratives, image collections, biographical dictionaries, critical biography etc.
 
The Biographical Dictionary: "This dictionary covers more than 28,000 notable men and women who have shaped our world from ancient times to the present day. The dictionary can be searched by birth years, death years, positions held, professions, literary and artistic works, achievements, and other keywords."
 
Black American History: This site on Black American history contains the text of significant speeches. There's also biographical information about famous Black Americans.
