  1. Borrowers are to produce their identification cards when borrowing library materials.

  2. Library materials may not be removed from the library unless properly signed for.

  3. Borrowers are financially responsible for any book or item borrowed. This responsibility ends when the item has been returned to the Circulation desk where it will be removed from the list of books on loan. Mutilation, theft, loss or damage to material while in the possession of the patron, will require patron to pay a fine or fee for replacement or repair of item.

  4. Attempts to remove materials from the Library without signing for them will be regarded as a major and deliberate offence.

  5. Reader identification cards are not transferable. This means that you cannot borrow a book on someone else name and you should not borrow materials for others. Responsibility for the item falls on you if the item is damaged, lost or stolen.

  6. Reference books, individual studies, journals, magazines, vertical file material and works of special value are not allowed to leave the library.

  7. Library materials borrowed must be returned on or before the due date.

  8. Books borrowed for the stipulated time period of 14 days or two weeks can be renewed only once, either by phone or on site.

  9. At the end of each semester each borrower must settle all overdue loans before they will be permitted to borrow again.

  10. Fines will be imposed on all persons for the late return of materials. Fines are as follows:

  • $0.10 per day for materials from the general collection

  • $1.00 for the first hour and $0.50 per hour after the first hour for materials from the reserve collection

  • Lost material: borrower has to pay the current cost of the item if it is lost or stolen.
